Voicemale - Wiggling of toes, dragons breath, breast stroke - and other fun

Fellow warblers,
It was back to old times last night with a gymnastic warm up session under Supersub coach, Graham. Front crawl, back stroke, standing on one leg, wiggling our toes and lots of dragon breath before starting the musical business of the evening. Dave Malone (sorry I’m late chaps😃) clearly knew what was about to happen as he strategically missed the warm up session by arriving a few minutes late ⏰- the wily old fox 🦊😂.
Graham had a full agenda and by the end of the evening had managed to rattle off 11 songs - the only ones missing after a busy 2 hour session were “The song goes on” and “Roll on that day“. A massive effort - well done to Graham for picking up all those songs, many of which were new to him, and well done VoiceMale for exhibiting true stamina with 2 hours of continuous singing. Whilst we were sweating, singing and breathing hard, the lads at St James Park were doing us proud by knocking 5 in against Crystal Palace ⚽️🏁🏴🏳️🏴🏁⚽️!!! Toon toon……
But I digress. So in truth for some of the songs collectively we weren’t at our usual best last night - but our numbers were down due to illness and Easter hols. Hats of to Nick Pavarotti who was THE lone tenor last night - but he’s been promised some help from Keith Domingo and Dave Carreras at the practice and concert next week! Even our basses were missing Will and Chris P, but luckily both are scheduled for a return to action in time for the concert. We weren’t too bad for Bari numbers but we will no doubt be strengthened by the return of at least one or both of the Alan’s. And we’re hoping Joe and Paul will be available to add some beef to the tunes section 🎶🎵👍🙏.
I know we’ll be at our best next week which is just as well as hopefully a sell out audience will be paying to see us. I feel sure we’ve all supported the choir by getting friends and family to come to this our keynote 25 year celebration and we don’t want to let them down.
We had a new member last night - Mike Groombridge welcome to the choir. He’s trying out the Bari’s for now but it could be the Tunes will be making him a lucrative transfer offer in the near future 😁. We hope you enjoyed the session Mike - rest assured its not always as fraught as it was last night - the evening normally goes by in a much more relaxed manner!!!
So finally - thanks again to Graham who has the massive task of leading us through unfamiliar waters 🏊♀️ 🏊♂️ 🏊. Thanks to all you guys for your continued support and willingness to spend all this week and next learning all those pesky words - as Eric would say, hopefully in the right order and in the right key🎵🎶😁.
The sun is out - have a great weekend and be kind to each other.
Onwards and upwards Voicemale 🚀🎼🎵🍺🎶🙏
Chris
