The sun was shining and BST is here again - here’s hoping we’re in for a long hot summer🤞. Following Dave E’s solo appearance in shorts last week this week he was followed by Mike R and John S - the optimism seems to be catching!!!

So it seemed a bit counter intuitive last night when Jon was focusing on us learning “Now is the cool of the day” when we were all dreaming of watching cricket 🏏 in the sunshine ☀️, feeling relaxed and quaffing a few margueritas🍹under the parasol 🏖️. However it’s a lovely song with some nice chords. Paul has made a great recording of our singing which he’s emailed to everyone - a few ragged edges but sounded pretty decent for a first go!!! We were further cheered by numerous renditions of Pit Bull soldiers but happy faces were thankfully restored with a hearty blast of The song goes on🎵🎶🥂and a few verses of Brian and Rosie 🌹🥀. In between we heard from Gez that we have the potential to become radio gaga pop stars with Gez’s friend on Koast Radio (based in Eshington!) - this of course is how Queen started their careers (which begs the question, who is OUR Freddie Mercury? - Will??🙂). Unfortunately it’ll have to be VoiceMale Lite as the studio is a tight squeeze and only 12 of us will fit in - details from Gez and Jon later!!!

But no such squeeze when we are ALL invited to the singalong with Oaken in Hexham on Sunday 4th May - see David M’s email from a couple of days ago for details. The cost WAS £35 a head but David’s negotiation skills and a subsidy from VoiceMale coffers will reduce this to a very reasonable cost of £20 a head - by all counts this is a great opportunity to enjoy some special coaching🎶🎵 (not to mention a potential visit to a local micro brewery🍺🍻👍🏽).

Our big Morpeth Gathering gig is rapidly approaching. I’ve enclosed a flyer for you all to print off. Please advertise it everywhere you can in pubs, doctors surgeries, lampposts etc. This is a big fund raiser for us and we need to make it successful so please advertise it widely and sell some tickets to your families and friends - we want to sing to a sell out audience. And so ended a successful and well attended evening with much achieved!!!
