Voicemale - Planets🪐 aligned!!!

Write Captain's Log, Stardate 1512.2. On our third day of star mapping, an unexplained cubical object blocked our vessel's path.

Well last night on my return to the asteroid that is known as upper Coquetdale I was unable to identify those 7 supposedly aligned planets - nor could I find the unexplained cubical object blocking my vessels path.

So it was a relief to have just left a happy bunch of VoiceMalers in the Tap following an enjoyable singing session in a warm and welcoming hall - well done Gez for opening the hall up and igniting the after burners 🔥 prior to our arrival!!! Well no less than 24 of us were there last night - despite some of us not being available due to being, variously, on the cloudy slopes of the Alps, being in the polluted atmosphere of the “Smoke” or looking after loved ones - the VoiceMale Flying machine was up and running and in fine voice!!!! On the night it was great to see no fewer than 6 basses providing a solid foundation to our warbling, a full set of 5 tenors (when did that last happen?!?), 5 bari’s and a sprinkling (7) of tunes plus a musical director. A great sound resulted - as Captain Jon said “Give it all you’ve got Scottie” - and we did 🚀, yes we certainly gave it all we had🎶🎵. We practised our new Voicemale summer round - ingeniously composed by Rick and referencing shades and shorts which it was agreed will now be our new summer uniform (I understand Gez also composed a ditty but it didn’t pass the decency test!!!) We then went on to sing the second half of the set list for our visit to Alnwick Brewery🍺 (where we will boldly go where no male voice choir has gone before😂). A lot of old favourites - The hewing goes on, Martin said to Barbara Ann, Rap her to Glory, Roll on those Mariners all…… I do think Roll on that Day is my favourite as it brings out the best of VoiceMale talent - a fabulous tune, lovely harmonies, light and shade and great lyrics - it sounded brilliant!! Paul announced that our World Tour was to be delayed until Saturday 4th October as that was when the majority of crew members were available - so stick that date in your star date diary.Great to see our latest recruit, Malcolm, fitting seamlessly in to the basses - he seemed to enjoy his evening both at the hall and later at the Tap - welcome Malcolm and we hope you enjoy the choir as much as the rest of us do.

As Captain Jon always says INTUITION, HOWEVER ILLOGICAL, MR. SPOCK, IS RECOGNIZED AS A COMMAND PREROGATIVE. Pick the bones out of that!!

And with that bit of rubbish, I think it’s time for Scottie to beam me up.

May we all live long and prosper - well at least until next Wednesday when we’re expecting a massive choir turnout as we porfeckt our repertoire for Saturday. The gig will be two 30 minute sets with a break in between. Get your friends, families and neighbours to come - it’s free entry - and get yersel’s on yer favourite form of social media and drum up some interest!! Yers aaal knaa we sing best to a big audience!! And don’t forget there’s a photo shoot so if you wanna be a star in the VoiceMale Hall of Fame for the next few years you’d berra be there - who was it that agreed to arrange the photographer?

A big thanks to Martin for stepping in last week with his blog - Martin you’ve certainly set a high bar which it may be hard to live up to - the only thing I can say is that while the Alpine slopes may be cloudy, here in Northumberland its wall to walk sunshine and blue skies….😂😃

Have a great weekend, enjoy the sunshine, blue skies and tropical temperatures. And remember to always be kind to each other!!!

Onwards and upwards VoiceMale 🚀🎉🎵🎶🍺🥰🪐 - Beam me up Scottie, where are you??

Chris

Ps I promise a return to a semblance of sanity next week when those pesky planets are misaligned again🤪🪐
