Voicemale - It may be brass 🥶🥶🥶🥶🙉 🐵 🙉 - but gig time is almost upon us 🥳🚀🎵🎶💪

Chums Crikey, winter is here - it was brass monkeys 🙉 in Upper Coquetdale last night at minus 6.8 degrees - but no snow. The log fire is on this morning (to give the central heating a turn🎶🎵!) but sadly we have no ash 🪵 to burn either green or old!!!! Beechwood is in short supply so it’s the elder which is getting used - but it actually burns too fast - I feel another verse of logs 🪵 to burn coming on!!! We had a big turnout last night and had a great practice for Sunday in Hexham - Jon reckons we’re match fit 🏉💪🏃🏼‍♂️🥳🏋🏽. We sang heartily and mostly in tune 🎶🎵and we’ve got a lusty and driving set list which should sound massive if the acoustics in the church are what we expect. We’ve also a couple of “sensitive” songs like Shenandoah and Only Remembered which are guaranteed to bring tears 😭 to the eyes of the audience😇. The word from the Boss (aka Epicentre!!) was that we sang well last night but he offered a few words of advice for the concert - be alert and stand on the balls of yer feet 🦶 with yer 🤚🏽 hands by yer side or behind yer back. (Note that Gez was given special dispensation to use his jazz hands 👐 in Shenandoah 😂). Jon said if you can hear yersel singing yer probably singing too loud!! You might have noticed Jon was a bit under the weather last night 🤨😤🥶 - I offered my advice that he should go to bed early, take a Sudafed washed down with copious quantities of whisky 🥃 🥃🥃 and get a good nights sleep 💤. I was later informed by Dr Billy that my prescription probably wasn’t the best in the circumstances🙃 - oops 😬 - sorry Jon, but hope you enjoyed the whizz!! Being in a church venue, this is deemed to be one of our formal gigs. So, on the orders of the Boss, we’re changing the dress code for this gig from black with red accessories to ALL BLACK - we want to give a smart and professional image so it’s ALL BLACK, no red, and, if possible long sleeved black shirts. We’ll try it out and see what it’s like. We’re meeting at 1.30pm for a warm up and then a practice of Trees and April Morning with DSV’s. Sounded good last night - the gig starts at 3pm. So between now and then get those words as word perfect as you can 👌and let’s have a really fabulous gig - I’m really looking forward to it, it feels like a long time since our last gig at the Bridge.
