Fwd: Voicemale - Amen, amen, amen corner!!!!

1 min read

As Andy Fairweather Low would say before getting wide eyed and legless, if paradise was half as nice as the toon on a Saturday afternoon then you can bend me, shape me anyway that you want me, as long as we sing well that’s alright 👍🏼.Am I showing my age????

What a canny neet last neet. There were 30 of us (THIRTY!!!!) doon the Meth Haall making a splendid sound in preparation for our visit to the Toon on Saturday - it’s bound to be a great occasion and the acoustics in the cathedral will be a tad different and a bit more exciting than those we had at the Alnwick Brewery Tap last week!!!

We concentrated on Brian and Rosie and the Pit Bull sailors last night with outings for Shenandoran and Rapper to Barclays. David M was kind enough to video a couple of these whilst the Saturday team were on stage and has sent the videos through on WhatsApp - sounds ok but I’m sure it’ll be even better on Saturday afternoon by which time we’ll all be a bit more certain of the words👍🏼🤞(won’t we!!?!).

Jon had us doing breathing exercises but, being of a certain age, was unfamiliar with the breathing exercises many of us had previously experienced in our youth from Serge and Jane’s “Je t’aime moi non plus”

Finally just a word of welcome to our latest recruit - David Champion. David knows us well from our Hebron concert last year and it’s great to have him join the crew. I’m sure you’ll find us a friendly bunch David - we’re here to enjoy ourselves a make a great sound ( but not necessarily those from “Je t’aime moi non plus”!!!). Welcome David🙂.

Well that sums last night up. Good luck to all of us who are singing on Saturday - and stay cheerful all of you who for various reasons are unable to join us on this special occasion!!! As Gez has informed everyone we’re meeting at 1.30pm at Amen Corner which is just behind the Cathedral ⛪️. It’ll be a great afternoon 🎵🎶🍺🥳.

Onwards and upwards VoiceMale 🚀🎉🥳🎵🎶. Be kind to one another. Blue skies and fair winds to all.

Cheers 🍻

Chris
